During winter, Yoho National Park sees fewer visitors, making it ideal for quietly enjoying snow-covered mountains, forests, and partially frozen lakes and rivers. Around Emerald Lake, you can walk along the snowy shoreline and take in panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, and when conditions allow, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are available on selected routes. Access to areas such as Takakkaw Falls and Lake O’Hara is limited in the winter season, so a typical winter visit to Yoho focuses on Emerald Lake, Natural Bridge, and viewpoints near Field, where you can appreciate the calm, snow-covered scenery at a relaxed pace.
Natural Bridge A bridge built over hundreds of years by the flow of river water

Where the turquoise ripples of summer stand still, Emerald Lake, the jewel of Yoho National Park, transforms into a serene white paradise as winter arrives.
