It’s an easy place to soak up Calgary’s classic urban atmosphere while enjoying shopping, dining, and a relaxed stroll in one go. It has also been introduced as one of Alberta’s filming backdrops featured in the Netflix series.

Yoho National Park (Winter) A quiet alpine hideaway of snow-covered peaks, frozen rivers.

Yoho National Park (Winter)

During winter, Yoho National Park sees fewer visitors, making it ideal for quietly enjoying snow-covered mountains, forests, and partially frozen lakes and rivers. Around Emerald Lake, you can walk along the snowy shoreline and take in panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, and when conditions allow, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are available on selected routes. Access to areas such as Takakkaw Falls and Lake O’Hara is limited in the winter season, so a typical winter visit to Yoho focuses on Emerald Lake, Natural Bridge, and viewpoints near Field, where you can appreciate the calm, snow-covered scenery at a relaxed pace.

Natural Bridge A bridge built over hundreds of years by the flow of river water

Natural Bridge

Natural Bridge is an impressive natural rock formation that spans the flow of the Kicking Horse River west of Field, where the slower-moving waters from the Field valley flats begin their descent through a canyon to be joined by the Amiskwi River.

Emerald Lake (Winter) A frozen gem in a white winter wonderland.

Emerald Lake (Winter)

Where the turquoise ripples of summer stand still, Emerald Lake, the jewel of Yoho National Park, transforms into a serene white paradise as winter arrives. Surrounded by the majestic, snow-capped peaks of the Rockies like a grand folding screen, the frozen lake lies tucked under a blanket of soft powder, making you feel as if you’ve stepped inside a giant snow globe. In this place, even the silence is beautiful. Experience a peaceful winter where the world seems to have fallen asleep, and complete your very own winter fairytale at Emerald Lake.

Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake located in the eastern part of Banff National Park, about 5 kilometers northeast of downtown Banff. The lake is 21 kilometers long and 142 meters deep, making it the second longest lake in Canada's Rocky Mountain parks. In winter, it transforms into a mystical space where you can experience ice bubbles. This phenomenon occurs when methane gas, produced by plants growing on the lakebed, rises to the surface and freezes, creating what is known as Frozen Bubbles.

Two Jack Lake

The name "Two Jack Lake" originates from two men named Jack who were active in the area during the late 19th century. One was Jack Stanley, and the other was Jack Watters. They were involved in mining and exploration around Banff, and the lake was named in their honor as "Two Jack Lake." Two Jack Lake is a stunning lake located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. Just a short drive from Banff, it is a popular destination for visitors looking to experience breathtaking scenery.
